We are committed to creating value for all our stakeholders through an attentive and responsible approach to our profession.

CSR, which is both a factor in sustainability and a tremendous opportunity for innovation, is an integral part of our strategy, our ethos and our way of doing business. Our mission is to contribute to sustainable development by combining financial performance with social, societal and environmental ambitions.

To achieve our objectives, an in-depth review of our CSR strategy for the next five years was undertaken in 2020 and has enabled us to define four key pillars of commitment.

Secure the future of the Bank through good governance and ethical business practices

Banque de Luxembourg's reputation is based on good governance and a strong culture of compliance. We have established an efficient structure and implemented rigorous processes and controls to ensure strict compliance with the regulations in force. We have also enshrined the principles of transparent communication, diverse composition of decision-making bodies, and participatory governance in our ongoing efforts to preserve the sustainability of our business.

Forge long-term, caring relationships with our employees

We are a caring Bank and we are attentive in our relationships. Long-term relationships with our employees are one of the pillars of our CSR strategy, with the ambition of continually developing their skills, promoting diversity and equal opportunities, building loyalty in the younger generation, and ensuring the well-being of all.

Support the ecological, social and societal transition

As a committed economic player, we support our clients in a responsible approach to investment and entrepreneurship.

Our commitment is reflected in our partnerships with local suppliers and in our sponsorship and charity activities.

Offer our clients innovative products with positive social, societal and environmental impact

As a committed economic player, we support our clients in a responsible approach to their investments.

We offer a sustainable and responsible range of products and services, integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria throughout the investment process. This offer is enhanced by a discretionary socially responsible funds mandate and by three sustainable and responsible funds that have been awarded the LuxFLAG ESG and SRI Labels.

Finance and support the local economy

We have always aimed to play a vital role in Luxembourg’s local economy and to make an active contribution to its long-term development.

We work with entrepreneurs established in the Grand Duchy, helping them to finance their projects and to develop, manage and safeguard the wealth generated from their business. Our commitment to the local economic fabric is also reflected in the strong partnerships we forge with our local providers.

Protect our client’s wealth

As a century-old Bank, we are experts in protecting and enhancing our clients’ wealth over the long term, often over several generations. In a constantly changing environment, our wealth management approach is guided by cautious principles, with solutions defined independently by our own teams in Luxembourg. We prioritise high quality investments and expert risk control, a key component of our methodology.

Particularly for our business clients and their families, protecting their wealth also means supporting them at every stage in the life of their business. We therefore offer programmes dedicated to business succession. Find out more

Encouraging commitment from everyone

We are serious about our role as a responsible economic player.

Outside the Bank, we strive to make an active contribution to the awareness and development of philanthropic practices. We have been promoting philanthropy for over ten years through numerous initiatives, aiming to raise the profile of the charity sector and encourage people to donate and volunteer. Find out more

In keeping with our philanthropic tradition, we offer long-term support to our partners in the sociocultural sector in Luxembourg and Belgium, through our employees’ volunteering commitments and by providing expertise and financial and logistical resources. Find out more

Reduce our environmental footprint

Like any business, our activity has an impact on the environment. Conscious of our responsibility, we have been pursuing a policy of reducing our environmental footprint for the past ten years, with four objectives:

Reduce our emissions

Reduce our energy consumption

Improve our waste management

Build awareness among our suppliers
